Are you interested in why you are here, what is your purpose, life after death, mediums, spirit guides, spirits, angels, ghosts, metaphysics, etc. - maybe we can help answer some of those questions for you. Spiritualism is not only a beautiful religion, but it is also a philosophy and a science.
Spiritualism in Wheeling has been active since the third quarter of the 19th Century. In 1899 a group of Spiritualists met for the purpose of forming a Spiritualist Church. A charter was granted in 1901 by the National Spiritualist Association of Churches. The beautiful vanilla, brick church was built in 1916. The church was named for Rev. Way who was its first pastor and served for 23 years until his transition. His motto, "Light More Light - - Live Right for Right's Sake" is still displayed in bold gold letters on our platform.
Thought Exchange (Lyceum) attended primarily by adults at this time, begins at 9:30am.
Our Sunday Service begins at 10:45am and consists of singing hymns accompanied by organ music, a lecture, prayers, healing service for those in attendance and those not able to attend. Messages are offered to some in the congregation from their departed loved ones and friends through our mediums. Scheduled activities, changes and additions are also announced during the service. Members and non-members are welcome. Development Class/Circles are held throughout the year by Dr. Alan Zerla and Rev. John Meerschaert.
Seminars are also held throughout the year. Please call the Parsonage (304) 232-5795 for more details or watch the Announcement and Future Events Pages of this website.
